ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED: DATA CENTER CHANGE NOTIFICATION
Action is only required as a result of this change if you meet both of these conditions:
- Have a CrashPlan PROe organization with a Singapore backup destination (this does not impact Consumer or PRO customers)
- Have firewall rules in place which specifically limit the outbound CrashPlan client backup network traffic of those clients backing up to the Singapore destination to only the existing Singapore data center's IP range
Singapore Data Center Change
Code42 is securely moving your encrypted data from the existing Singapore data center to a new data center located within the same city in order to continue providing you with the same or better cloud services. At no time does Code42 have access to your unencrypted data.
Timeline and Impact
Your encrypted data is being moved as of March 19, 2016 and will be complete by June 30, 2016. You may have already been notified of this via a Helpdesk ticket on March 3rd or 4th, or on an earlier date according to contractual notification requirements.
If you match both of the above qualifications, the backups and restores of client devices that remain limited to the existing data center's IP range will not function after the encrypted backup data has been moved to the new data center. To continue uninterrupted service, your outbound firewall rules (if any) will need to be adjusted now.
Customers who do not have outbound firewall rules in place will not experience an interruption to service.
Action required for those with outbound firewall rules in place
Please update any limiting firewall rules to include both the existing and new data center IP ranges in order to continue backups and restores.
- New Singapore data center IP range: 188.8.131.52/24
- Existing Singapore data center IP range: 184.108.40.206/27
All of your encrypted backup data will be securely moved to the new data center by June 30, 2016. At that time, you may remove the old Singapore data center IP range (220.127.116.11/27).
