Resolved: June 10 Unplanned Outage briefly affecting some Code42 CrashPlan for Enterprise and CrashPlan for Home customers

June 11, 2017 Update: As of 4:55am CDT, all services have been restored.

June 10, 2017 Update: As of 10:45am CDT, all services have been restored with the exception the PROe Cloud, US (43) destination's storage on dgb-msp.crashplan.com which is under unplanned maintenance resulting from the power outage. Affected Code42 CrashPlan for Enterprise client endpoints backing up to dgb-msp.crashplan.com will continue to experience connection, backup, and restore issues. Another update will be posted when the unplanned maintenance is complete. 

 

Issue Summary

Due to a brief unplanned power outage affecting a small portion of our central U.S. data center, a limited amount of CrashPlan for Enterprise and CrashPlan for Home customers who utilize storage in that data center may have experienced or are experiencing client issues connecting, backing up, and restoring. Customers whose archives are affected will see the error message "Waiting for connection" in the endpoint application. Renewals for CrashPlan for Home customers were also briefly affected.

Affected Products and Customers

  • CrashPlan for Home customers who back up to the CrashPlan Central (42) cloud destination
  • CrashPlan for Home customers attempting to renew their subscriptions
  • Code42 CrashPlan for Enterprise customers who back up to the PROe Cloud, US (43) destination

Status

Power has since been restored and our engineering team is actively working on bringing all affected equipment back online. Renewals for CrashPlan for Home customers are fully functional at this time.
